Thanks to Christopher Hiller for providing a great summary of the 2019 club trip to the East Coast of Australia to experience the MCG and football in Melbourne.
Day 1
With Early wake up calls booked , everyone gathered at Perth airport to receive their Wembley Footy Tour Hoodies and boarding passes for an early departure to Melbourne for the Year 7 once in a lifetime football trip.
Like military precision we arrived at our Mantra on Jolimont Hotel dead on schedule for lunch and checkin, then a short walk to THE MCG For our Tour, a Visit to the National Sports Museum and then Game on Interactive session.
We finished the day in Tiger Heartland with dinner at The Richmond club then a short Walk Back to the MCG where the Sydney Swans comfortably accounted for the Melbourne Demons under lights.
Day 2
After Breakfast the boys Donned their Wembley Kit and tested their skills and endurance at ACE PERFORMANCE, AAMI Park
A brief Visit to Tigers Training at Punt Road for a few, then a quick Trip to Wesley College, St Kilda as Special guests of West Coast Eagles for the Captains Run/ light Training session and Group Photo with all the players and coaching staff.
Day 3
After a Free afternoon on Saturday and Great Dinner at Hophaus in Southbank, everyone was Pumped for the West Coast Eagle Richmond game at the MCG on a Typical Melbourne Freezing Cold Sunday afternoon.
The Boys were taken Down to the Hallowed Turf of the MCG and formed a Guard of Honour in their Team Kit in Front of the West Coast Eagles Banner as the players ran out in front of a crowd of 45000 screaming eagles fans…
As we all know its not about winning, its about having fun and though it was a close game all day and a great experience. The boys all Boarded their Qantas flight home that evening Tired but full of great memories and a Great Team Bond.
Back Home
The next night The Boys played Under lights at Wembley on the Monday, we thought they would perhaps be a bit tired due to late arrival home and school next day But they Played like boys possessed, with a spirit and Hunger we hadn't seen all year!
